Success story – Marian
The attention is very personal, caring and very hard to find these days
I call it…COMMUNITY
From Day 1 at the Intro to Fit for 5…I felt very comfortable and at home at PK. Everyone was warm and greeted me when I came in the door not knowing anyone yet. The atmosphere was low key, fun, GREAT music selections and not stuffy like most gyms. I enjoy a workout that makes you sweat…and BOY DO YOU SWEAT. I usually like to wear light colored shirts so I can see my “sweat angel” after a good workout. Love the mix of Kettlebell’s and alternative methods to get a full body workout. Also, that the coaches always provide an option for folks that can not perform the full range of motion on a particular exercise. Believe me…takes a little bit to get the burpees done properly. All the coaches are right there to make sure you are doing exercises in the correct form to ensure proper strengthening and no injury. I come on M-W-F so Mike, Staci and Vicky have been OUTSTANDING. Wish my schedule afforded time to meet the other folks.
All the staff know your name when you come in. They remember if you have shared something with them and they follow up with you to see how things are going. The attention is very personal, caring and very hard to find these days. I call it…COMMUNITY. So many people are longing and lonely due to not belonging somewhere….at PK…you belong and you are in Community.
Loved the use of MyFitnessPal. Only had an issue using the Macro mode instead of the daily Nutrition Mode. But once I got corrected on that….to eat the full allotment of calories per day in the proper Macros was just what I needed to eat good, balanced meals throughout the day. PK also offers GREAT suggestions within the Facebook pages and websites to help with food choices.
The main thing that drives me that I shared with Mike is a verse from the New Testament in the Bible: 1 Corinthians 6:19,20 “Do you not know that your bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies” I want to make sure “my temple” is fit for the King. I want to be a good steward of the body I have been given and make sure it is well taken care of…by what I put in..and how I make sure it continues to work well.
