I wasn’t in a good place in my life…

“I’ve tried staying in shape over the years, but nothing has motivated me enough to stick with it. I’m sliding into an old person body and need to get back to feeling good. I want my body to feel stronger. I’d love to start having more energy. I’ve got joint pain that slows me down, and I know it’s only going to get worse unless I do something about it. I sit around too much, have gained weight, and don’t eat right. I miss being happy and confident. I’m staying home instead of going out and doing things. I’m turning fifty next year, and I want to be happy about that. I want to feel healthy, strong and motivated when I wake up in the morning.”

I wasn’t in a good place in my life and had one of those now-or-never moments as I joined PK. Five months have flown by, and everything has change for me. I throw my jeans into the dryer and my arms fit into long sleeve shirts again. I’m no longer living in an old-person body. I feel strong and have way more energy, motivation and confidence to live my life. In fact, I’m actually looking forward to turning fifty because I feel so good.

Hands down, joining PK is the best thing I’ve done in a very long time. The instructors know what they’re doing. They give alternative choices to almost every exercise, and are always careful to ensure my form is correct. They motivate, and they’re fun. If I can’t make a morning class, there’s an afternoon/evening class that works for me. Everyday at PK is different, which keeps things fun and far from monotonous. Circuit training, being partnered up, or in your own space- it’s never exactly the same. People who work out at PK are supportive and friendly. It’s just a nice place to walk into everyday.

If you’re considering trying PK and are on the fence, I hope you’ll do it. You’ll be sore at first. You may think that kettlebells are too hard to learn. You might be intimidated to walk into a place where people all seem to know each other and are so into the workouts. But if you keep coming, you’ll learn the proper form. You’ll start to feel better, and before you know it, you’ll be one of those people who seems to know everyone and are into the workouts too.
